How To Assign Fields
From the preview page of your document, you can assign fields to another person who will be a part of the signing process. There are 2 different ways to do this.
#1 Assign Fields in the Data Entry/Signatures Section
On the left side of the screen, click the drop-down arrow next to the recipient's name under "Adding document fields for" and choose a different person:
To add someone new to the document, search for their contact in the "Find a Contact" box, or click "Create new contact":
#2 Assign Fields From The Field Itself
You can assign a field that you've already placed on your document by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to their name and switching to a different person, finding a contact, or creating a new contact:
How to Assign Template Placeholder Fields
Placeholder fields are assigned in the same way, by clicking the drop-down arrow next to the placeholder's title and choosing a different placeholder:
How to Remove a Placeholder or a Recipient on a Document/Template
Ensure that you don't have any fields assigned to the placeholder that you'd like to remove on your document or template. If you do have any fields assigned to the placeholder, then you should remove them or reassign them to a placeholder that you want to keep.
Then, click on the "sending defaults", and a message will appear asking you if you'd like to assign fields to that placeholder, or "save anyway".
Click "save anyway" and you'll be taken to the send dialogue.
The placeholder that you want to remove will be moved to the CC'd area of the send dialogue and you can click "x" to remove them there.
Save your template, or send your document.
