Connect Google Drive to SignWell
Connect Google Drive to SignWell
The Google Drive integration lets you import files from Google Drive into SignWell and automatically save completed signed documents back to Google Drive.
Once connected, you can choose files from Google Drive when creating a document in SignWell. This is helpful if your agreements, contracts, forms, or other documents are already stored in Google Drive.
How this integration works
Google Drive works as a cloud file source inside SignWell.
When you select a file from Google Drive, SignWell imports a copy of the file into your SignWell document workflow. You can then add recipients, place fields, and send the document for signature.
If the file is a Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides file, SignWell converts it to PDF during import.
After all recipients complete the document, SignWell can automatically save the completed signed PDF back to your Google Drive.
Connect Google Drive
To connect Google Drive:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Integrations.
- Choose Google Drive.
- Click Connect Google Drive.
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Approve the requested Google Drive permissions.
Once connected, Google Drive will be available as an import option when creating a document.

Supported file types
Google Drive imports follow SignWell’s standard supported file types and upload requirements. For the current list, see Preparing and Uploading Documents.
Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides files are converted to PDF when imported into SignWell.
Save completed documents to Google Drive
When Google Drive is connected, completed signed PDFs can be saved back to Google Drive automatically.
By default, SignWell saves completed documents to a Google Drive folder named:
SignWell - Signed
The signed file is saved as a PDF once all recipients have completed the document.

Disconnect Google Drive
To disconnect Google Drive:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Integrations.
- Choose Google Drive.
- Click Disconnect.
After disconnecting, you will no longer be able to import documents from Google Drive or automatically save completed PDFs back to Drive unless you reconnect the integration.
Common questions
Does connecting Google Drive automatically send my documents?
No. Connecting Google Drive only lets you import files from Drive and save completed PDFs back to Drive.
Are Google Drive files synced with SignWell after import?
No. SignWell imports a copy of the selected file. Changes made later in Google Drive will not update the SignWell document.
Do recipients need Google Drive access?
No. Recipients sign through SignWell as usual.
Can I still upload files from my computer?
Yes. Google Drive is an additional import option. You can still upload documents directly from your computer.
