Import Documents from Google Drive

Import documents from Google Drive

After connecting Google Drive to SignWell, you can choose files from Drive when creating a new document.

This lets you start a SignWell document without first downloading the file from Google Drive.

Import a file from Google Drive

To import a document from Google Drive:

  1. Start a new document in SignWell.
  2. Choose Upload or Import Document.
  3. Select Google Drive.
  4. Choose the file you want to use.
  5. Continue preparing the document in SignWell.

What happens after import

When you import a file from Google Drive, SignWell creates a copy of that file in your SignWell document workflow.

You can then:

  1. Add recipients.
  2. Place fields.
  3. Set signing order or document options.
  4. Send the document for signature.

The original Google Drive file has not been changed.

Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides files are converted to PDF when imported into SignWell.

This allows them to be prepared and sent for signature like other SignWell documents.

Supported file types

Google Drive imports follow SignWell’s standard supported file types and upload requirements. For the current list, see Preparing and Uploading Documents.

Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are supported through PDF conversion.
